I don’t want to jinx it, but with 12 hours left to go and at 104% of our goal, it looks like we’re going to fund our Kickstarter!
Torre at Fearfuladventurer.com summed it up: “They continually bite off more than they can chew, and then somehow manage to chew it. I have no idea how they do what they do. Just watch them pack their suitcases in this Kickstarter video, and tell me you don’t feel like napping afterwards.”
Which is exactly what I did. I woke up at 7:30 AM Beirut time, checked our totals, high-fived my husband, drank some ginger tea to settle my stomach and then, after feeling sick for a few hours, I collapsed into bed and slept. Later Cole climbed into bed with me too, and when I woke up we were alone, Cole and I, and the light had shifted to late afternoon.
Some people respond to good news by jumping around, I apparently sleep for six hours straight. In the middle of the day. At the end of the biggest and most exciting project I’ve ever been a part of. Straight to bed. I impress myself sometimes.
We’re heading out to Cyprus tomorrow, to do a quick visa run and to squeeze in a short break. I just want to take pictures and eat seafood and swim in the ocean with Cole. Drew’s going to work on the documentary while enjoying the view. It’ll be nice. It’ll give me things to share on here that aren’t about kickstarter or the film or how we’re handling it all.
I have so many people to thank. I have a huge amount of celebrating to do, once this thing really finally finishes. But until then thank you, everyone who is reading this, all of you who have somehow given us permission to do these crazy things and cheer us along the way. You guys are freaking unbelievable. We’re making a movie! It’s going to the festivals! *squee!* *falls into a deep sleep*
I’m like a narcoleptic but my trigger is amazing, kick-ass, good news.
