I’ve just written a post for the popular language learning site Fluent in 3 Months about my experiences learning Mandarin, Arabic and Spanish with my son.
I know there are lots of bilinguals out there sharing their languages with their kids but I wanted to share what it’s been like as some one who grew up with only one language (and married to a monolingual as well) to attempt to raise my children with multiple languages — two of which I had never even attempted learning before.

I’m also writing a book as many of you know, and I’m trying to gather some information from other language learners, specifically from bilingual families, polyglots (who speak 4+ or more languages as I’m attempting to become) and language teachers and academics.
If you want to help out, I can use all the help I can get… First, fill out the survey that applies to you and second, even if you didn’t complete a survey can you pass these on and help me get the word out?
Survey for those who speak 4+ languages
Survey for parents of bilingual children
Survey for language teachers, academics and researchers
If you just want to find out when the book is available you can sign up to get an email reminder.
A big thanks to Benny from Fluent in 3 Months and all of you guys for helping me with this!
