37 Weeks

Location: Bucerias, Mexico

Drew painted this baby on my belly, seeing as this might be our last weekly “baby bump” photo (if she comes this week as the doctor predicted) and it kind of freaked Cole out. “BABY!” he yelled at me when I came into the room. But he curled up next to me and together we named her parts: her nose, mouth, eyes, head, belly, and feet. I keep telling him that she’s coming soon, and he seems to get it. He remembers her name when I ask, and he’s tentatively agreed to share his toys with her.

“Get out, out!” he said to the baby, then looking at me, “Open! Open!”

Soon, Cole, soon.

  1. Wow, I didn’t realize your pregnancy was perfectly aligned with my sister’s (her first). Happy for you both 🙂

  2. Love this image! What a great idea! Best wishes for a safe and easy ‘journey’ for new baby and all of you.

  3. Open Sesame!! Ah if only it were that simple. Thinking of you. Take care of yourselves and hope the week goes well x

  4. This is very sweet and creative guys, how exciting for Cole – I wonder what he is thinking! Looking forward to meeting her, all the best for a safe delivery Christine x

  5. SO clever and a perfect way to begin Cole’s introduction to his sister. Happy birth day to all of you when it arrives.

  6. That’s so darn precious, and a great way for Cole to really be piecing things together!! Great painting job, Drew!

  7. haha this awesome! I wish someone would paint a fetus on my stomach too! (might be a little creepy though)
