The Lisbon Slideshow

Posted on 14 August 2008 | Category: Photography

Christine is off to Croatia this evening, after landing in Venice last night, so her trusty sidekick (read: husband) is here to fill in by posting a slideshow of her trip to Lisbon. Let’s send her good vibes on her travels, this is the trip that is requiring the most logistical planning, moving from place to place, and the one that gives me the biggest ulcer worrying about.

Actually, maybe you should send me good vibes. Or reassure me that Croatia isn’t as scary as it sounds to me.

    Drew,
Croatia is not as scary as you think it is! My good friends (who are not ‘travelers’) traveled there for 5 weeks a few years ago. They managed to get around quite well, rented a car and really enjoyed their time there. Their only complaint? That the food could have been better. I’m sure Christine will be more than fine, and will have some fabulous stories when she returns!

I have a Polish friend who lives in Croatia. She absolutely loves it. Of course, it helps that she’s found love there but I think she would have stayed there anyway. She can’t say enough about it!!

P.S I used to be a financial adviser for a large IFA in London…until three years ago when I jacked it all in and escaped to Japan for a year. Since then I’ve lived in Italy and Poland. I’ve no immediate plans to leave Poland as, like my friend in Croatia, I’ve found love. Thank God, Poland is such a great place.

Good luck with your journey. I’ll be back. Have fun. Tom

Ah, Lisboa– such a photogenic city. The photo of the Smart car reminds me of how impressed I was by parking in Lisbon–tinyish cars in postage stamp sized yards– how did they get in the yard to park the car in the first place? I especially love the photos through the red wood framed doorway looking out to the water.

Lovely photos. They seem to really capture the spirit of the place.

Man! Croatia should be okay. I´m still kicking in Rio, despite waking up to a barrage of machine guns last night. I´m sure Croatia is safer ;)

The bit I saw of Croatia was fantastic. Christine will love it. I hope that she gets a chance to go to Plitvice - a real travel wonder of azure blue lakes and tumbling waterfalls.
