So Long, and Thanks for All the Drinks

Since we’ve announced that we’re leaving to our family and friends, it’s been a mad rush to connect with everyone before we go. Sometimes that means a lovely dinner together, or time spent socializing at our yard sale, but mostly it’s been going out for drinks at one of Boston’s many libation centers. So much so, that we’ve come to recognize a familiar call: “What are you guys doing tonight, let’s go out”. We’ve never been so popular. Lesson learned: moving abroad= free drinks. Other Lesson learned: Gin and tonic a meal does not make.
Going to MV
So in an attempt to dry out for a couple of days, and mostly to see a place I’ve never been but lived near most of my life, I’m heading to Martha’s Vineyard. It’s a small island off of Cape Cod, and the ferry there is only $7. Why haven’t I gone before? Call it local ennui. In any case, I’m taking the time to play with my camera, rent a bicycle and stick my feet in the ocean before I go.
After that Drew and I will be staying for a few nights in Vermont, at his wonderful sister’s house, then off to Madrid we go.
While the cats away
While I’m gone I’ve wrangled a few guest posters from some very cool travel blogs. There will be a post a day, and if you don’t already, this would be a great time to comment on their posts, check out their sites and share with others (like Stumble). You know, internet bloggy love. I know they’ve worked hard on these posts, and since my going rate for guest posters is $0 plus my undying admiration, it’s up to you guys to share the warm fuzzies.
Yes, I’m coming back
I may post once or twice from the road, but I will be back to the regularly scheduled programming on Monday 7/7/07.
I just wanted to say a big Thanks! to everyone who has followed me so far, and I can’t wait to share what happens next…
(*Bonus points if you get the reference of the title.)
